Punjab to Hire Thousands of Teachers on Internship

The Punjab government approved the recruitment of 7,354 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) across the province on Tuesday.In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the cabinet also approved a special allowance for police personnel serving in the Katcha area. Additionally, the cabinet sanctioned a Rs500 million “Endowment Fund for Writers’ Welfare” under the information and culture department.

A special court for persons with disabilities was approved under the Punjab Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act. Conditional approval was granted to delegate sub-registrar powers to tehsildars and naib tehsildars.The CM instructed the Board of Revenue to present a five-year comprehensive housing policy to the cabinet. The cabinet also approved the inclusion of Lahore Knowledge Park on Bedian Road under the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority and appointed new members to the Gujranwala Development Authority and vice chairman of WASA, Gujranwala.

Further approvals included the delegation of sub-registrar powers to legal land transferees, amendments to the government land exchange policy for housing schemes, and reallocation of funds for upgrading, constructing, and rehabilitating tertiary care hospitals under the specialized healthcare and medical education department.

An amendment was also approved to allow assistant directors (local government) to act as chairpersons of conciliation councils under the Muslim Family Laws Ordinance of 1961.

During the meeting, it was announced that a “central portal” would be created to ensure transparent recruitment of CTIs in government colleges. The cabinet also approved amendments to the Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess Act 2015 and delegated leave and pension authority to district health and education CEOs.
