The ban on Pakistan cricketers participating in the IPL was initially imposed in the aftermath of the 2008 terror attack on Mumbai
Pakistan pacer, Hasan Ali, has expressed his fervent desire to make a mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL), despite the longstanding ban on Pakistan cricketers participating in the tournament since its inception in 2008.
The ban, initially imposed in the aftermath of the 2008 terror attack on Mumbai, has prevented Pakistan cricket stars from gracing the IPL stage for over a decade.
However, in a recent interview with a local news channel, Hasan remains optimistic about the prospect of breaking this barrier and donning the colors of an IPL franchise.
“Every player wants to play IPL & it is my wish to play there. It is one of the biggest leagues in the world and I will definitely play there if there is an opportunity in the future,” Hasan Ali said.
While the ban has kept several prominent Pakistani cricketers, including Shoaib Malik, Shoaib Akhtar, Kamran Akmal, Sohail Tanvir, Shahid Afridi, and others, away from the IPL after the inaugural edition.
