Pakistan A and India A will kickoff their ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 campaigns against each other at (6:30 PM PST) in what promises to be another electric affair between the longtime rivals at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Muscat, Oman.
This will be the first meeting between the sides since the last year’s final when Pakistan A outclassed India A by 128 runs at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium to lift its second consecutive trophy.
Their 15th meeting is set against a charged background already and promises to deliver another slobber knocker of a contest.
Interestingly, the 2024 edition is the first time the competition has shifted to the shortest format of the game with all previous editions using the 50-over format. Before heading to Oman, the Shaheens participated in a rigorous five-day training camp at the Hanif Mohammad National High-Performance Centre in Karachi, honing their skills for the fast-paced T20 format.
Pakistan has been placed in Group B alongside India A, Oman, and the United Aram Emirates (UAE).
After facing India, Pakistan will take on Oman on October 21st at Oman Cricket Academy Ground (2:00 PM PKT) and UAE on October 23rd, Oman Cricket Academy Ground (2:00 PM PKT).
Mohammad Haris is leading the Shaheens squad with Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, Haider Ali, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Mohmmad Imran Jnr, Omair Bin Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Rohail Nazir, Shahnawaz Dahani, Sufiyan Moqim, Yasir Khan and Zaman Khan rounding out the touring party.
The Men in Green will be hoping to cut the 9-4 overall head-to-head deficit with another win.
